Where does VLC store recorded videos?

I’m hoping you can help me figure out where VLC saves the videos that I record using the program. I’ve been recording some clips, but now I can’t seem to locate them on my computer. I’m not sure if VLC has a default folder where it puts these files or if I needed to specify a location when I started the recording process.
